Basuraleza is the app from the LIBERA Project (SEO/BirdLife and Ecoembes) for organizing and participating in collaborative litter cleanups in natural areas, and for rigorously recording the waste found on the ground.

View an interactive map with all active cleanups, or filter by proximity, date, and province. Sign up for any public cleanup in a few steps, add companions, or cancel your participation when needed.

If you prefer to organize your own, the process is 4 steps: choose your profile type, set the date, time, and location on the map, define the title and number of participants, and indicate the shipping address for the materials. Decide whether the cleanup is public, open to other participants, or private.

Each new cleanup is reviewed before being published, and you will receive an email and in-app notification as soon as it is approved. As the organizer, you can edit or cancel the cleanup, see who's signed up, contact attendees, and share the event via WhatsApp or social media. At the end, receive your participation certificate or a permit certificate if you were the organizer.

CHARACTERIZATION: THE SCIENTIFIC HEART OF THE APP
Record the waste you find in each section of nature with precise, georeferenced data in 3 steps: prepare the characterization by indicating whether it's linked to a cleanup or independent, choose the type of area (urban, terrestrial, or aquatic, with subtypes like beach, river, or forest), and let the app capture your GPS location.

Walk around the area while the app automatically tracks your distance, and identify each piece of waste using the visual catalog of over a hundred categories with photos, or by searching for it by text. Indicate the quantity of each type found.

Finalize the characterization by noting the weight of each piece of waste, take a photo of the cleaned area, and submit the summary. Your history is saved, including a map of your route, a list of the waste items, and a photograph of each area you clean.

The data you record is automatically sent to the scientific platforms Marnoba, specializing in marine and coastal waste, and eLitter, focused on terrestrial waste, contributing to real-world research on the state of natural spaces.

GAMIFICATION: POINTS, LEVELS, AND THE B-LEZA AVATAR
Each cleanup and each area you clean earns you points. As you accumulate points, your B-LEZA avatar evolves through 7 levels, from a seed to a complete ecosystem, with a progress bar leading to the next level. Points reset each year, so every season starts fresh for everyone.

RANKING: COMPARE YOUR PARTICIPATION WITH THE COMMUNITY
Check the global ranking or rankings by province, including the top three and the top 10. Your position is always displayed, regardless of your ranking.

WORKS OFFLINE
Cleanups often take place in areas without cell service, such as mountains or remote coastlines, so Basuraleza is designed to work offline. The waste catalog is downloaded in advance, and if you close the app mid-cleanup, you can pick it up right where you left off when you return, with all your data, photos, and route intact. Everything pending submission is queued and automatically synced as soon as you regain internet access.

YOUR PROFILE, YOUR DATA
From your profile, manage your personal information, the organizations associated with your account, your mailing addresses for rewards, and view both the cleanups you've created and those you've signed up for. Decide which notifications you want to receive: changes to cleanups, campaign launches, results, or level upgrades.
