Behold: Daily Bible Verse

One verse a day. Nothing else asking for your attention.

Behold opens on a single verse, drawn from a curated pool in a fixed, no-repeat order. Everyone sees the same verse on the same day — there is no algorithm deciding what you need, no feed to scroll, and nothing to catch up on.

GENUINELY OFFLINE
The King James Version and the World English Bible, Updated edition, both ship inside the app. Nothing is fetched, cached or downloaded later — all 31,000 verses are already on your phone, and full-text search works in aeroplane mode.

READ IT LIKE A BIBLE
Every book and chapter is set as flowing paragraphs rather than a numbered list, with real breaks taken from the source text and the verse numbers small and out of the way. Job, Psalms, Proverbs and the poetry books stay set line by line.

ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
A widget carries the day's verse without your opening anything at all. It paints in your light or dark reading theme and refreshes itself just after midnight, every day, on its own.

A DAILY REMINDER
One notification, at a time you choose, carrying that day's verse. Off until you turn it on, and it never asks twice.

KEEP WHAT YOU FIND
Save any verse to a list that lives on the device and nowhere else. Open one to read it in the chapter it came from, or copy and share it as plain text with the reference attached.

NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER
No sign-up and no sync. Your favourites, your reading position and your settings live in a database on your phone and are never sent anywhere. There is no Behold server for them to reach.

BEHOLD PRO
Behold is free, and free means ads: a banner on Today and one card in Saved, served by Google AdMob. A one-time Behold Pro purchase removes both and unlocks the Dawn and Still reading themes. The serif reading face is never paywalled.
