A mobile app to detect diseases in beans and Irish potato

KilimoBora is a mobile application that assists smallholder farmers, and agricultural extension officers detect early crop diseases in
common beans and Irish potatoes at the farm level. In the project, we collected crop leaf images from farms in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania.

Then, we trained machine learning models to detect two diseases in common beans: Bean rust and Bean anthracnose. The model can also detect early blight and late blight crop diseases in Irish potatoes. The models were deployed on the KilimoBora application at the farm level.
