BeeBia APP

BeeBia seeks to create a flower map of Ireland so as to aid in the conservation of pollinators, namely, bees, hoverflies and butterflies. Such a map will indicate what type of flowers (and how many) are growing all over Ireland. From this, the types of habitats that provide the best food for pollinators can be identified. To do this, the help of communities and individuals across Ireland is needed.

Become a citizen scientist and contribute to pollinator conservation.

It's easy. Just take some photos of flowers and upload them to the BeeBia www site – www.beebia.org.

BeeBia is a collaboration between Dublin Bay Biosphere, Trinity College Dublin, the National Biodiversity Data Centre and University College Dublin. It is part-funded by the Irish Research Council, Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme.

Dr Eileen Power, a researcher from Trinity College Dublin, is coordinating this initiative.
