Chessmith GAME
A real engine, not a gimmick
Chessmith runs its own search (alpha-beta, iterative deepening, quiescence) rather than picking from a canned move list. Difficulty adapts automatically to your rating as you play, so beginners get a fair fight and strong players still get pushed — the engine never "hangs a piece on purpose" to feel easy, it just declines to press its advantage.
Know exactly where you went wrong
Turn on Training mode and every move you make is scored against the engine's own best move, the same centipawn-loss grading serious players use to track accuracy. Blunder something and Chessmith stops you before the AI punishes it, explains what happened in plain language, and lets you try again.
Stuck? Ask for a hint
Suggest highlights the engine's recommended move when you want a nudge — clearly marked so it never inflates your accuracy stats.
Play people, not just the AI
Jump into online multiplayer and play a live opponent. A global leaderboard tracks accuracy across clean, unaided games.
Track your improvement
A rank and XP system, achievements, and a full stats page (win rate, best streak, checks/checkmates delivered, move-quality breakdown) turn every game into a data point instead of a one-off.
Take your game with you
Export any game — full move log, accuracy stats, and an evaluation curve — to a PDF you can preview in-app and share or email.
No ads interrupting mid-game. No third-party chess engine — Chessmith's search is original code.
