Why an app vanished from the Play Store
An app you use disappears from the store and the listing simply returns nothing. Google does not explain removals publicly, so working out what happened means reading the signals. The four common causes have quite different implications for whether you should keep using it.

An app already installed keeps working. It is not remotely removed unless it was pulled for being harmful, which is a specific and rare action. What you lose is updates and the ability to reinstall it from the store.
- Do not uninstall it That is the moment you lose it, because you cannot reinstall from a store that no longer lists it.
- Back up the APK Extract and archive the installed file. It will still install years later.
- Find out why it went The developer's site or account usually says, and the reason decides everything else.
- Look for a successor Many withdrawn apps have a continuation elsewhere, sometimes under a different name.
Getting it back on a new phone
