Rapid Pass

Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) has established a Clearing House with the help of JICA to implement integrated and automatic fare collection system in transport sector under the project “Establishment of Clearing House for Integrating Transport Ticketing System in Dhaka City Area”. In this project, e-ticketing card called 'Rapid Pass' has been introduced. This is a prepaid card containing electronic chip. The Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the design and nomenclature for 'Rapid Pass' and inaugurated it on January 04, 2018.

Passengers will be able to travel different transports (Metro Rail, BRT, BRTC, BIWTC, Bus, Bangladesh Railway) by using Rapid Pass. It will reduce the time to collect ticket during travel. In future utility bills, vehicle toll and general shopping opportunities will be available by using this Rapid Pass.

Under the Vision 2021, the Rapid Pass will play an important role in implementing the dream of Digital Bangladesh. This card will trigger a positive change in socio-economic status. Rapid pass will accelerate sustainable development.
