WoodShape: Cut & Measure GAME
HOW IT PLAYS
• Read the hole. Set the compass to one of its edges: needle on a corner, pencil on the next.
• Swing that length onto your sheet. Where two arcs cross, you have a point.
• Lay the straightedge through your points and pencil the cut line.
• Tap the line with the saw. It cuts only along what you drew, up to the nearest crossing.
• Drag the piece into the hole. Turn it, flip it, slide it. Gaps show red, overhang orange.
• Fit within tolerance and the order is done. Waste less stock for three stars.
12 ORDERS
From a warm-up plank to a wedge, a stepped sill, a T-brace, an arrowhead and a hexagon inlay. Some sheets are too small for one piece and want two. The last orders give you exactly the area of the hole and nothing to spare.
17 KINDS OF STOCK
Pine, maple, oak, cherry, bamboo, walnut, zebrawood and ebony, then sandstone, slate, granite, marble, terrazzo, brass and copper. Each one unlocks as your trade rank rises from Apprentice to Guild master. Swap stock in the middle of an order: what lies on the bench goes to the rack and comes back when you want it.
A REAL BENCH
• The straightedge has ticks but no scale. Lengths are copied, never read.
• A pencilled circle saws out whole as a disc. A line that stops inside the stock becomes a slit.
• Undo any step. Save a half-finished bench and pick it up later.
• Mix several woods in one hole and keep a picture of the inlay in your gallery.
• Stuck? Every order has a step-by-step construction hint.
• Plays in portrait or landscape, with one finger.
No timers, no lives, no numbers. Just the geometry of a workshop.
