Jass — Schieber Card Game GAME

Schieber Jass, the Swiss national card game, played properly.

Four players in two fixed partnerships, 36 cards, nine tricks a round. You sit South with a partner across the table and two opponents to your left and right — and the whole game runs offline against three opponents that actually play, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to wait for.

CHOOSE OR SCHIEBE
Every round starts with the forehand naming what it is played in: one of the four suits as trump, Obenabe, or Undenufe. Not worth naming anything? Schiebe — shove the decision across to your partner, who then has to choose something and cannot shove it back.

WEIS AND STÖCK, COUNTED PROPERLY
Sequences and four of a kind are found in your hand for you, so you never lose 150 points because you did not spot your own Vierling — but saying them is still your call. Only the team holding the best single Weis scores, and it then banks every Weis its members declared. Stöck is counted automatically, whatever else happens in the round.

THE RULES THE OTHER APPS GET WRONG
• The Under and the Nell outrank the Ace — but only in trump.
• A trump may always be played, even when you could follow suit.
• You may not under-trump, unless trumps are all you hold.
• Trump led? You must follow with trump — unless your only trump is the Under.
• Undenufe really is the deck read backwards: the six is the highest card and worth 11, the ace is the lowest and worth nothing.
Illegal cards are dimmed in your hand rather than rejected after you tap them, so the rules are visible while you are deciding instead of afterwards.

A JASSTAFEL THAT SHOWS ITS WORKING
Card points, Weis, Stöck and the 100 for a match are listed separately and then added up on screen — "96 + 20 = 116" — so you can check the round against the cards you watched go past. Optional tournament scoring multiplies the round by the contract: Schellen and Rosen ×1, Schilten and Eicheln ×2, Obenabe ×3, Undenufe ×4.

BOTH DECKS
Play with French faces or the Swiss-German deck — Schilten, Rosen, Schellen and Eicheln, with Under and Ober on the court cards. It is a rendering choice only: the rules and every card value are identical either way.

ALSO
• English and German.
• Three difficulty levels. The hard opponents count the cards.
• Games to 500, 1000 or 2500.
• Tap to select, tap again to play — no trump Under thrown away by a mis-touch.
• Light and dark themes.
• No account, no sign-in, no permissions beyond what the ads need.

Jass plays entirely on your device. No game data ever leaves your phone.
