Skite

Skite is a communication tool thanks to which you can stay in touch with any other user of the same app (regardless of whether they use the Android or iOS version). You can send text messages to individuals or groups, as well as photos, videos, voice messages, and location information (GPS), and even make hi-res voice calls.

Before starting to use the app, as with similar services like WhatsApp and Telegram, you've got to associate your phone number with a personal account, which you can do in a two-minute process. Once you've received the activation code and finished filling out the form, you can see the full list of friends who are using Skite.

All conversations you have on Skite will be stored 'offline' on your device. That is, only you can access them from your smartphone. Nobody else. Thanks to this you can send and receive texts with no worry that your chats will get stored in the cloud or on some external server. On the other hand, you can edit the interface design to fit it better to your personal tastes. Finally, one especially interesting feature is that Skite offers the possibility for users to send messages to themselves, which get stored in a folder called 'Note to self'.

Skite is an alternative way to communicate, thanks to which users can start conversations with all the directness and ease that characterizes this kind of app. Its only drawback: that its user database is smaller than that of competitor apps.
