Prasasti: Indonesian History APP
TIME CORRIDOR
Walk through more than 200 events across seven eras: Prehistory, Hindu-Buddhist, Islamic, Colonial, Japanese occupation, Independence and Modern. The screen changes colour with the era you are reading.
ARTICLES THAT SHOW THEIR SOURCES
Every article names its source: text from English Wikipedia (CC BY-SA), with its revision number and its list of references. Uncertain dates are written honestly ("c. 7th century"), never invented. Several sultanates and prehistoric sites also offer further reading from open-access academic journals.
FIGURES, KINGDOMS AND FAMILY TREES
Kingdoms and figures of the archipelago, with family trees and links between events, such as the chain of the Linggadjati, Renville and Roem–Van Roijen agreements.
TEMPLES IN 3D
Spin and zoom 3D models of Borobudur and Prambanan. Explore inscriptions, temples and manuscripts.
HISTORY MAP
See where events happened on a map of Indonesia, filtered by era.
DAILY QUIZ
Test yourself with a quiz for every era. Questions are built from article data and change every day, with a "Retry the wrong ones" mode.
TODAY IN HISTORY
Find what happened on today's date, with an optional daily notification.
HONEST ABOUT ITS LIMITS
Prasasti is made by an independent developer, not an official institution. The content comes from open sources and has not been reviewed by historians, and every article says so. Contested topics carry a special marker. A few articles have no English Wikipedia article yet; they are shown in Indonesian and clearly labelled. Found a mistake? Every article has a "Report a correction" button.
NO ACCOUNT, NO ANALYTICS
No sign-up and no analytics. Free, supported by ads that stay out of your reading: none on the home screen and none on sensitive topics. Supports dark mode, large text and TalkBack. Switch between English and Indonesian in Settings.
