Simple HTTP Server:Wi-Fi Share APP

Simple HTTP File Server turns your Android device into an HTTP file server on your local Wi-Fi network. Share any folder, browse it from any computer or tablet with a web browser, and stream videos and music directly. No cloud uploads, no account signup, no special storage permissions — folder access uses Android's system file picker.

Common uses:
• Move files between phone and PC without a USB cable
• Stream a video file to a smart TV, VLC, or another tablet
• Show photos quickly on a meeting-room display
• Browse your photo library from a laptop on the same Wi-Fi

Features:

■ Multiple shared folders
Register any number of folders via Android's Storage Access Framework. Each folder appears as a top-level directory in the browser. Mark one folder as the root to have it served directly at "/".

■ Network interface selection
Choose which network the server listens on: Wi-Fi only (default), all networks, or localhost only. The Wi-Fi-only default keeps you from accidentally exposing the server over mobile data.

■ Digest Authentication
Protect access with a username and password. The password isn't sent in clear text.

■ MediaStore browsing
Optionally expose Android-managed media (images, audio, video) through a separate path. The permission prompt is shown the moment you enable it, with a clear warning if access is denied or revoked.

■ mDNS discovery (Bonjour)
Optionally advertise the server on the local network so devices such as VLC can find it automatically.

■ QR code and share
Each server URL has Copy, QR, and Share buttons — point your phone's camera at the QR code from another device to connect without typing.

■ index.html support
Optionally serve index.html when a directory is accessed.

■ Auto-start on boot and on app launch
Optionally start the server automatically.

■ Range / partial requests
Video and audio players that seek within a stream are supported. Deep seeks land in constant time on file-backed responses.

■ Tablet two-pane layout
On large landscape screens the controls and the log (or settings) are shown side by side.

■ Edge-to-edge layout
Targets the latest Android (Android 16, API 36) with an edge-to-edge UI under the transparent status and navigation bars.

Privacy:
The app does not upload your data anywhere. All transfers happen directly between your device and clients on the same local network. The privacy policy is linked from Settings → About.

Requirements:
Android 8.0 (API 26) or later. No special storage permissions required.
