Smart Border Parking

Smart Border is a public project funded by the Interreg Italy - Switzerland 2014-2020 Program and promoted by the Municipality of Luino and the Municipality of Gambarogno aimed at facilitating and promoting public transport (on rail and road) and spreading soft mobility by mitigating the impact individual motorized transport of cross-border workers.

As part of the Smart Border project, 2 car parks have been created in the city of Luino:
- "Ex Parigine" car park
- "V Locale" parking

The "Ex Parigine" Smart Border Parking, located outside the city center, must represent an attractive pole for all citizens. Its strategic position lends itself to the use of a different mode of travel, Car Pooling.

The "V Locale" car park is located in the center of Luino, precisely in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, with direct access to the railway station. The Luino station, served by both Trenord and TILO trains, represents an important attraction that favors the movement of cross-border commuters. For this reason, the use of the parking spaces in "V Locale" is provided for the users who adopt the intermodal exchange using the train, the Bus or the sharing services.
