Department of the Impossible GAME

Welcome to the Department of the Impossible.

Your hiring form requires the signature of an employee. It creates that employee only once it is signed. The door is waiting for a ruling.

The regulations here were written to contradict each other, and that was not an accident. You are the newest clerk, and thirty cases are open on your desk. None of them are possible. File them anyway.

WHAT YOU DO
- Read the docket and choose how to argue the case: read the rule literally with the Formwright, recover a strange precedent with the Pensioner, or invite the exception with the Inbox Imp. Each method is its own investigation, with its own evidence, witnesses and jokes.
- Answer three evidence questions on the case board at every stage. A wrong reading is never fatal - the board asks you to look again.
- Combine two regulations into a compound ruling, bring down the stamp, and watch the office rearrange itself around the result.
- At the final hearing, decide what kind of Department should exist tomorrow.

WHAT IS IN IT
- 30 cases across six acts and 9 endings.
- Around 48,000 words on a single playthrough, and about twice that across every method.
- 610 scenes, each with its own original illustration.
- An original score that follows the case, not a loop that follows you.
- Rewind to any decision you have made and choose differently. Nothing is lost by trying.

HOW IT WORKS
- Cases 1 to 6 are free. One optional purchase opens the remaining 24 cases and all 9 endings. One purchase, once, and it stays yours. There is nothing else to buy.
- Plays entirely offline. Nothing is downloaded after install.
- No advertising, no tracking, no analytics, and no account. The app collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.
- Adjustable text size from 85 to 200 percent, a reduced-motion setting, and a sound toggle.
