Melbo: Match 3 Puzzle Game GAME
Swap two neighbouring candies to line up three or more. Boards use four to six colours, so some levels flow on their own and others make you stop and look before you touch anything. No timer, nothing to wait for mid-level, and you can put the phone down whenever you like.
What the board puts in your way:
• Jelly, one or two layers, peeled off by clearing a candy on top of it
• Ice, one or two layers, cracked by clearing a candy right next to it
• Stone, a solid wall that never breaks, so you plan around it
• Holes and odd-shaped boards, where candies fall diagonally to fill the gaps
Goals change as you go: reach a score, collect candies of one colour, clear every last bit of jelly, or break all the ice. A level can ask for several at once, and you need all of them done.
Special candies do the heavy lifting. Match 4 in a row for a striped candy that clears a whole line. Make an L or a T for a wrapped candy that explodes twice in 3x3. Five in a line gives you a colour bomb. Swap two specials together and you get one of six combos: two bombs clear the board, a bomb plus a plain candy removes that colour everywhere, a striped plus a wrapped tears out three rows and three columns.
A fair puzzle game:
• A swap that doesn't make a match costs you nothing
• Boosters never cost a move either: hammer, board shuffle, or +5 moves to rescue a level you just lost
• Five lives, one back every 30 minutes, and a life is only spent if you accept a loss
• Coins come from stars and from clearing a level the first time; you start with 200
• A hint appears after five seconds, and the board reshuffles itself when no moves are left
Small download, offline, portrait, playable one-handed, no account and no sign-in. Every level and all the game logic sit on your phone, so a plane, a basement or a dead zone changes nothing. Progress is saved on the device.
Nothing to decorate and no story to follow, just you and a match 3 board.
16 levels at launch on a scrolling map, three stars each, the next one opens as soon as you earn a star, and more are being added. Available in 14 languages. Clear all 16 and you get a celebration screen of your own, with your total stars, total score and coins for the whole run.
About the ads
The game is free, so there are ads — but you always know when one is coming. Ads between levels only start from level 2, come at least 2 minutes apart, and if you have just watched a rewarded ad you get another 90 seconds free of them. Rewarded ads are entirely your choice: +5 moves to rescue a level you just lost, refill a life (3 times a day), 50 free coins (5 times a day), or double the coins you just won. There are no real-money purchases — everything in the game can be earned by playing.
Melbo is a free match 3 game you can play offline — a small puzzle for the commute.
