Clear the board, one capture at a time.

Every piece has to go, and the only legal move is a capture. Take a knight and you become the knight. Take a bishop and you move like a bishop. Pick the wrong order and your piece is stranded with nothing left to take — so you read the position again and find the line that works.

Real chess rules, one new idea. A knight still moves like a knight; a bishop still cuts the diagonal. What changes is the goal: no opponent, no clock, and nothing to lose. Just a position, and whether you can see the way through it.

Boards start at 3x3 and open up as you go. Every pack is a handful of positions with one honest solution each — solvable on the bus, and worth a second look at home.

Almost every pack is untimed: take the minute you need. A few carry a clock as a challenge, and you will see it before you start.
