Chess Caddy: Chess Tournaments

Chess Caddy is a free chess tournament manager for running in-person chess events — club nights, school tournaments, scholastic events, and weekend opens. It handles pairings, results, and standings from one phone, tablet, or laptop, and it works with no internet connection.

It is built for the person actually running the room, not for online play.

PAIRINGS IN ONE TAP
• Swiss pairings by score, avoiding rematches, balancing colors, and handling byes fairly
• Round robin schedules built in one action
• Single-elimination knockout brackets with random draw and automatic byes
• Bughouse (teams of two), with fixed partners or random partners each round
• Manual override: swap seats, flip colors, or move the bye, with a warning if a swap creates a rematch

LIVE STANDINGS AND TIEBREAKS
• The leaderboard updates the moment you enter a result
• Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, and Cumulative tiebreaks, selectable per event
• Medals for the top three and a champion banner when the last game is in
• Tap any player for a round-by-round history: opponent, color, result, running score

PLAYER MANAGEMENT
• Add players in seconds, with or without ratings
• Edit names and ratings in place at any time
• Withdraw a player mid-event and re-enter them later without breaking the standings
• Forfeits and no-shows recorded cleanly, without skewing the tiebreak math

CHESS 960 (FISCHER RANDOM)
• Draw a random legal starting position, or look one up by number (1 to 960)
• A clear board diagram, the position code, and a plain-English castling note
• Print it as a wall sheet for the whole room

PRINT, SHARE, AND BACK UP
• Print pairing sheets for each round and a standings wall chart
• Copy pairings or standings as text to paste into a group chat
• Export a whole tournament to a file to back it up or reopen on another device
• Undo any change, with an automatic backup so a misclick never costs you the event
• Optional: publish results to a free, unlisted web page you can share with players

WORKS OFFLINE, IN 25 LANGUAGES
Chess Caddy runs entirely on your device. Your tournament data is stored locally and is not sent anywhere unless you choose to publish it. A dropped Wi-Fi connection never stops play. The app is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Ukrainian, Dutch, Czech, Hungarian, Greek, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Hebrew, Armenian, and Norwegian.
