Rhythm APP
Everything happens on your device. Rhythm has no internet connection, no ads, no account and no tracking. The sound itself is never recorded or saved. Only the numbers are kept, and only when you press Save.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Measure noise live
A large dial shows the current level from 0 to 120 dB. You also see the lowest, average and highest level of the session.
• Understand the level at a glance
The scale is split into four zones, each with a label and an icon: Quiet, Moderate, Loud and Harmful. Rhythm marks 85 dB on the dial. Many noise guidelines use this level as the point where long exposure becomes a concern. You can turn on a warning that highlights the reading above 85 dB.
• See the sound in detail
The Analysis tab shows a live waveform, a frequency spectrum with 31 bands, the input level and the balance of bass, mid and treble.
• Save and look back
Give a measurement a name and save it. The History tab lists all your saved sessions and lets you filter them by noise level. Delete any of them with one tap.
• Follow trends
The Statistics tab shows your average and peak levels by day, week or month, and how much time you spent in each zone.
• Adjust the meter
Choose A, C or Z frequency weighting and a Fast or Slow response. If you have a reference meter, set a calibration offset to match it. Pick a dark or light theme, or follow your system setting. Keep the screen on while you measure.
GOOD FOR
• Checking how loud your workplace, classroom or office is
• Measuring street or neighbour noise at home
• Getting a feel for the noise level at a concert, a club or a sports event
• Comparing rooms, machines or appliances
PRIVACY
• Works 100% offline. The app contains no networking code.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no account.
• Audio is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. Sound is analysed in memory and thrown away right after.
• Your saved measurements and settings stay on your phone. You can delete them at any time in Settings.
• The microphone is used only while a measurement is running.
• Android cloud backup is switched off for this app, so your history is not uploaded to Google Drive.
PERMISSIONS
Rhythm asks for one permission: the microphone. Without it, the app cannot measure sound.
HOW ACCURATE IS IT?
Rhythm is not a certified sound level meter. Phone microphones differ from each other, so every reading is an estimate. For better results, compare Rhythm with a real meter and set the calibration offset in Settings. Do not use Rhythm for legal or official measurements.
Rhythm is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
