Vía Libre is the app made by and for those of us who cross the train tracks every day in Tepic, Nayarit. It alerts you in real time if a crossing is blocked, so you can decide your route before getting stuck waiting.

HOW IT WORKS
The community reports the status of each railroad crossing (open or blocked) from their cell phones, in real time. The more people report, the more reliable the information becomes—and reports from users with a good track record (Sentinels) count for even more.
