AlcoTables: Alcohol Tables APP

AlcoTables puts all 20 OIML R 22 alcoholometric tables into one calculator. Enter what you measured — alcoholometer or hydrometer reading, density, temperature, alcoholic strength by mass or by volume — and read the exact value straight away.

READ THIS FIRST
AlcoTables is metric and works to the 20 °C reference temperature set by OIML R 22, the international standard used in Europe and most of the world. It does not convert to US proof, proof gallons or wine gallons, and it does not reproduce the TTB Gauging Manual tables at 60 °F. If your task is gauging distilled spirits for a TTB tax return, this app is not a substitute for the Gauging Manual.

WHERE IT EARNS ITS PLACE IN THE US
• Labs and QC running a digital density meter that reports kg/m³ at 20 °C
• Anyone using a metric alcoholmeter or hydrometer graduated in % vol at 20 °C
• Converting alcohol by volume (% vol, ABV) to alcohol by mass (% w/w) and back
• Compounding pharmacists diluting 96% ethanol to 70% or 80% v/v for tinctures and hand rubs
• Perfumers cutting perfumer's alcohol to a working strength
• Importers, exporters and brokers reading OIML and EU paperwork on incoming spirits
• R&D, blending trials and hobby distilling where % ABV at 20 °C is the working unit
• Chemistry, brewing and food science students learning alcoholometry

WHAT YOU CAN CALCULATE
• Correct an alcoholometer or hydrometer reading to the 20 °C reference temperature
• Get density from alcoholic strength, or alcoholic strength from density at 20 °C
• Dilute a high-strength distillate to a target strength, with the real alcohol–water volume contraction accounted for
• Find the pure ethanol volume in 100 dm³ or 100 kg of mixture
• Cross-check a digital density meter against a glass hydrometer

ALL 20 TABLES IN ONE INDEX
• Table I and II — density from temperature and strength by mass or by volume
• Table IIIa/IIIb and IVa/IVb — density at 20 °C, and strength by mass to strength by volume conversions
• Table Va/Vb — alcoholic strength from density at 20 °C
• Table VI and VII — alcoholic strength from an observed density and temperature
• Table VIIIa/VIIIb — corrected strength from a soda-lime glass alcoholmeter
• Table IXa/IXb — strength from a soda-lime glass hydrometer
• Table Xa/Xb — strength from a borosilicate glass instrument
• Table XIa/XIb — pure ethanol volume at 20 °C in 100 dm³ of mixture
• Table XIIa/XIIb — pure ethanol volume at 20 °C in 100 kg of mixture

WHY ALCOTABLES
• Offline by design: the tables work in a cellar, a still house or a lab with no signal
• Complete: all 20 tables in one consistent, quick-to-scan index
• Shows its working: table, formula, inputs and reference temperature stay on screen
• Fast: pick a table, set the values, read the result — no page flipping
• Everywhere: the same calculators on phone, tablet, desktop and in the browser
• Six languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish

IMPORTANT
AlcoTables is a calculation aid for mixtures of ethanol and water only. Sugar, extract, methanol and dissolved solids are not modelled, and results are valid inside the OIML R 22 range of −20 to +40 °C and 0 to 100% alcohol. For legally binding measurements use calibrated instruments and the official tables that apply in your jurisdiction.
