Clive: Agentic Coding Terminal APP
Every mobile terminal faces the same enemy: the phone itself. Switch apps to copy a 2FA code, let the screen lock, step out of Wi-Fi — and your connection is dead, your output gone, your job orphaned.
Clive was built around a single obsession: your session should be exactly where you left it, every time you come back.
NEVER LOSE A SESSION
• Sessions keep running while Clive is in the background, held open by a foreground service instead of being torn down the moment you switch apps.
• Mosh sessions don't reconnect — they resume. Hours later, on a different network, your session syncs and carries on.
• tmux mode makes plain SSH just as durable: your processes and scrollback live on the server, and Clive reattaches automatically.
• Automatic reconnect with smart backoff logs you back into the same session the moment your network returns.
• No battery-draining keep-alive hacks — just the right protocols, used properly.
BUILT FOR THE AGE OF AGENTIC CODING
Kick off a long job — an AI coding agent, a training run, a build — and walk away. Clive is your window back into it from the train, the couch, or the other side of the world. When your server is doing the work, your phone only has to watch.
A REAL TERMINAL IN YOUR POCKET
• SSH and Mosh, selectable per host. Multiple simultaneous connections — even to the same server.
• A custom keyboard with a joystick-style key bar, plus full hardware-keyboard support.
• Ten themes, adjustable scrollback, and imported vim colorschemes and fonts.
• A built-in local shell: a real PTY on the phone itself, no server required.
YOUR FILES, RIGHT THERE
• Built-in SFTP browser with a code editor, syntax highlighting, and Markdown rendering.
• Type "open" plus a file path at any prompt and the file appears.
YOUR KEYS NEVER LEAVE YOUR PHONE
• Ed25519 keys are generated on the device and stored encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore. Hardware-keystore P-256 keys never leave the phone at all.
• Server keys are pinned on first connection, so a changed host key is a question, not a surprise.
• Unlock the whole app with your fingerprint, your face, or your screen lock.
• Host settings ride your own encrypted Android backup to your next phone; passwords and private keys stay on this one.
• No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Diagnostic and device metadata is sent only when you choose to submit feedback.
UNDER THE HOOD
• SSH-2 with Ed25519, ECDSA, and RSA keys — import an existing OpenSSH or PuTTY key, or generate a new one on the phone.
• Mosh's encrypted UDP state-sync protocol, bootstrapped over SSH.
• A VT100/xterm-256color emulator written from scratch: no WebView, no third-party terminal engine.
• SFTP for the file browser, viewer, and editor.
The terminal, hosts, keys, and backup are free. A one-time Clive Pro purchase adds the file browser, the file editor, themes, and fonts — with a 7-day trial so you can try everything first.
Pull out your phone. Your session is still there.
