How to Recover Deleted Photos

Deleted photos from your phone and not sure how to get them back? Photo Recovery combines three things: Android's trash, a scanner that checks the places on your phone where photos you think are deleted usually end up, and a step-by-step guide to recovering photos from the cloud, WhatsApp or an iPhone.

ANDROID'S TRASH

• The app lists the photos Android is still keeping after you deleted them (Android 11 or later) and puts them back into their original folder, confirmed by the system itself.
• You see how many days each photo has left before Android erases it for good.

SCANNER AND HIDDEN FOLDERS

Many photos that look deleted are still on the phone, just outside the gallery. The scanner looks for them in:

• WhatsApp and Telegram folders, including the ones your gallery hides
• WhatsApp statuses, old screenshots and downloads
• Thumbnails kept in .thumbnails, labelled as thumbnails and never as the original photo
• Duplicate copies of the same photo, so you can free up space

In "Look deeper" you pick a folder in the Android picker and the app reads all of it, including hidden files and folders (.nomedia). There are shortcuts to WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram and the camera folder.

Every photo found shows where it came from and why it was flagged. The ones you choose are saved into a "Recovered Photos" album that any gallery can open. The original is never moved, edited or deleted.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I recover deleted photos from my phone?
It depends on where they are. If they are still in Android's trash or the gallery bin (30 to 60 days), in a cloud backup or in another app's folder, yes.

How do I recover deleted WhatsApp photos?
The scanner finds the WhatsApp photos that are still on the phone. If they were already erased, you need to restore a backup; the guide explains how.

Is it free?
Yes. No in-app purchases and no subscription: every result is visible without paying. It is supported by ads, which you can manage from Settings.

PERMISSIONS WE ASK FOR AND WHY

• Photo access: the scanner needs it to check the photos the system keeps outside the gallery. If you choose "selected photos", it will only see those.
• Folder access: only to the folder you pick in the Android picker, and only to read it.
• Internet connection: only to load the ads. No photo ever goes through it.

We do not request access to video, audio, contacts, location or all files on your device.

PRIVACY

Photo Recovery analyses photos on the device itself and uploads no photo, and no data derived from a photo, to any server. There are no analytics and no crash reports. The ad network receives no photo and nothing derived from one.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The scanner does not promise to recover your photos and it does not always find what you are looking for. There is no deep scan and no invented percentages, and the app says so itself in Settings. Photo Recovery cannot restore a photo that Android has already erased from storage: no Android app without root access can. It can put back the ones that are still in Android's trash.
