Orion Maps - find your way

A map-viewing app designed for orienteering and similar sports. It serves as:

1) A handy orienteering map – ideal when you cannot or do not wish to print a physical map.
2) A training aid for beginners – displays your current location and aligns the map to the north.
3) A tool for planning training sessions or races – allows you to see your exact location and ensures controls are placed correctly.

What can ORION MAPS do?

PDF maps
- View, pan, rotate (using two fingers), and zoom.
- Lock rotation or zoom levels.

KMZ maps
- Operating is the same as for PDFs, but since KMZ files are georeferenced, app offers additional features:
- Display current location (or direction and distance to your location if it falls outside the currently visible map area).
- Rotate the map based on the compass and other sensors.
- Track your location and rotate the map while moving.
- Allows you to move the map freely in any mode and then return to your current location.

GPS recording
- Record your route while a KMZ map is open and save it as a GPX file.
- Show or hide the route path.
- Load a route from storage or import a different route.

Once opened, maps are stored within the app, allowing you to access them later even without a signal.
