According to document number TS13206, published by the Turkish Standards Institute in April 2006, the features of the Ottoman Turkish Keyboard are as follows:

“In preparing this keyboard, the positions of the letters on the Turkish Q and F keyboards we use today were taken as a basis. Letters common to both alphabets were placed in the same positions; that is, the Arabic letter ر was placed where the R letter appears on the Latin keyboard, and the Arabic letter ت was placed where the T letter appears on the Latin keyboard. Letters that are not common to both alphabets were placed in appropriate positions based on phonetic and shape similarities. Furthermore, all symbols that would allow writing in Arabic and Persian were also included.”
