PRAAI · Vaarmeldingen APP
Spotted water police or enforcement? An inspection on the lake? Report it with a single tap on the map, and every skipper in your boating area will see it immediately.
REPORT IN THREE TAPS
Confirm position, turn direction, choose type. Done. Faster than typing a message in a group chat on a bouncing boat.
RAAAI SOMETHING ELSE
Bridge or lock malfunction, obstacle, or a dangerous situation? Report that too, with a short description and optionally a photo. These reports remain on the map longer, and skippers on the spot confirm whether the issue is still ongoing or report it resolved. This way, the community keeps each other informed of everything related to boating.
ALWAYS UP-TO-DATE, NEVER NOISE
Everything on the water is in motion. That is why every notification fades by the minute: fresh pins are bright, older ones become transparent, and a notification disappears automatically when it stops playing. This way, you never have to look at outdated boating notifications.
ONLY YOUR BOATING AREA
You set your own boating area and only receive notifications for that specific area. If you are boating on the Frisian Lakes, you will not be disturbed for anything on the Vecht. The app will never interrupt you unnecessarily.
THE TODAY TAB: YOUR ENTIRE BOATING DAY IN ONE OVERVIEW
Boating weather with hourly forecast, sunrise and sunset times, KNMI weather alerts for your area (including the Wadden Sea and IJsselmeer region), swimming water reports, the operating times of all Dutch bridges and locks, shipping notices readable in full in the app, marinas with facilities and contact details, boat ramps with a navigation button, the VHF channel for your water, and a tide planner that looks a week ahead per station. OBSTRUCTIONS ON THE MAP
Maritime notices appear as yellow triangles on the main map, with the most important ones first. This way, you can immediately see what is happening on your route while underway.
SPEED AND COURSE ON VIEW
Your own speed and course are displayed at the top of the map, in km/h or knots. And as long as you are sailing, you can also see them on your lock screen.
SHARE EVERYTHING AS A MAP
You can share a buoy, bridge, lock, maritime notice, marina, boat ramp, or swimming spot as a complete PRAAI! card with a map view, directly in WhatsApp, Telegram, or on social media.
THE SHARED LOGBOOK
Every report writes itself into the logbook for your sailing area, and skippers keep each other briefly updated there. Messages disappear after 12 hours: it is a status channel, not an archive. KNOWN SHIPS LIVE VIA AIS
Vessel broadcasting public AIS and confirmed by the community as enforcement vessels navigate live over the map, with a course. AIS is an extra layer, not a guarantee.
PRIVACY FIRST
No account, no email, no tracking. You only choose a nickname. No position history is stored and photos are stripped of metadata. Everything runs on our own servers in the Netherlands.
Free.
Waterway information from Rijkswaterstaat, KNMI, and zwemwater.nl, among others. Port data partly based on OpenStreetMap contributors. Operating times are the official schedules, not the current status of a bridge or lock.
Navigate responsibly. PRAAI! is an information app and does not encourage anyone to break the rules.
