Prayer Times Athan: Vakithane APP
A prayer bar that stays put
The next prayer time and a live countdown sit in your notification panel all day. The bar and the athan alarm run independently of the app: even if you never open it, swipe it away from recents or restart the phone, the bar stays and the countdown keeps running. It refreshes itself when the clock or the time zone changes. The status bar also shows how long is left until the next prayer.
No full-screen ads
No ad to watch, no close button to hunt for, no subscription screen just to see a prayer time. There is one small banner at the very bottom of the screen; it never covers the times and never greets you at launch.
Works worldwide
Cities and districts in 202 countries, with times from the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Travel to Paris, Lahore, Berlin or New York and the app switches to your new city on its own. Search finds a place without picking a country first: type "Cairo" and tap it. Far from any listed city, prayer times are calculated from your coordinates so the app keeps working.
English and Turkish
The whole app — screens, notifications, widget and the prayer bar — is available in English and Turkish. It follows your phone language by default, and you can pin it to either language in Settings.
Home screen widget
The next prayer, its time and a running countdown on your home screen. Make the widget taller and all six daily times appear with the next one highlighted. The countdown is driven by the system clock, so it never runs backwards after a prayer time passes.
Athan notifications, your way
Choose the notification sound (silent, notification, alarm or the built-in athan) and vibration in the app; the choice really reaches the system. You can be warned 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes before a prayer, and switch each of the six times on or off. You can also pick your own athan recording from your phone.
Qibla compass
The qibla angle and the distance to the Kaaba for your exact location. The compass uses the phone's orientation sensor and needs no internet.
Prayer tracker
Mark a prayer as prayed with one tap — from the app or straight from the notification — and see your last week and month at a glance.
Monthly timetable
A whole month of prayer times on one screen: fajr, sunrise, dhuhr, asr, maghrib and isha, day by day.
Battery and autostart guide
On Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, vivo and Samsung phones, background restrictions can silence notifications. The app recognizes your phone brand and walks you through the settings that need changing.
No account, no permission pile
No sign-up, no login. Times are stored on your device and stay there when the connection drops. Location is optional and approximate only; your coordinates never leave the phone.
Prayer times come from the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). Vakithane is not an official Diyanet app.
