Tessera - Block Puzzle

Tessera is a block puzzle with no timer and no lives. Take as long as you like over a move — the only thing that ends a run is running out of room.

HOW IT PLAYS

Three pieces sit below a 10x10 board. Drag them anywhere they fit. Fill a complete row or column and it clears, making space for what comes next. There is no rotating and no falling blocks: every piece is exactly what it looks like, so a run only ends because of a choice you made several moves ago.

STAGES, NOT ENDLESS SCROLL

Points build toward a stage target. Clear it and the next stage starts with a higher target and a slightly meaner mix of pieces. Later stages also seed blockers — fixed cells you cannot place over and cannot remove, which quietly shrink the board and force you to plan around them.

THREE DIFFICULTIES

Easy keeps blockers rare and the pieces gentle. Medium introduces them from stage three. Hard brings them in a stage earlier and twice as many. Difficulty can be changed at any time from the settings menu; changing it starts a fresh run.

A SECOND CHANCE

Every run allows one undo, and when the board finally fills you are offered the chance to keep going rather than lose the run outright.

GLOBAL RANKING

Your best score goes onto a worldwide leaderboard. No sign-up is needed — you get a place on the table from the first game you finish. Signing in with Google is entirely optional and does one thing: it keeps your score and your history if you reinstall or move to a new phone.

YOUR GAMES

Every finished run is saved with its score, stage, difficulty and how long it lasted, alongside your best, your average and your furthest stage. It is a record of whether you are actually improving, not just a high-score line. You can clear it at any time, from the device and from your account.

PLAY ANYWHERE

Tessera works offline and needs no account. It is portrait-only and built for one hand.

ADS AND THE AD-FREE UPGRADE

Tessera is free and supported by ads: a banner below the tray, an occasional full-screen ad between runs, and optional ads you choose to watch in exchange for an undo or a continue. A single one-off purchase removes all of them permanently and leaves the undo and continue in place, free.

Tessera is an independent project. "Tessera" is the name for the small tiles that make up a mosaic.
