EIGHT CAMERAS TO CARRY
Each camera is an invented model with its own look, body colour and nameplate. Swipe the dial to change cameras; the LCD shows the look live before you shoot.
• Mochi 32: a 3.2 MP pocket CCD from 2003. Cool, crunchy colour, hard highlights, orange date.
• Sunny 35: a 90s 35 mm point-and-shoot. Warm tones, soft shadows, grain and a gentle flash.
• Paper 27: a single-use flash camera. Bright centre, dark soft corners, green in the greys and a light leak.
• Pop Instant: a square instant print. Soft, milky colour on a thick white border.
• Flip VGA: a 0.3 MP flip-phone camera from 2005. Blown highlights, colour noise and chunky pixels.
• Kira CCD (Pro): a 2006 CCD compact with a star filter. Candy colour and a sparkle on every light.
• DV-99 (Pro): a still from a late-90s camcorder. Soft lines, smeared colour and the REC display burned in.
• Luxe 35 (Pro): a premium 35 mm compact. Crisp, deep blacks, fine grain and a red date.
SHOOT LIKE IT'S 2003
• Flash off, auto or on. The back camera fires the torch for that on-camera flash look; the front camera lights the screen white for a selfie flash.
• Date stamp in a seven-segment LED font, in the order you like: year-month-day, month-day-year or day-month-year. Switch it off with the DATE button.
• Self-timer: 3 or 10 seconds, with beeps.
• Front and back camera.
• Shutter sound you can switch off in Settings (some regions always play it).
• Pictures are saved to Pictures/Pocket Digicam at the old camera's file size, with the date and time in the EXIF data.
PHOTO BOOTH
Flip the switch on top to BOOTH and one press takes four pictures, each after a 3-second beeping countdown. They are printed together with the date on one strip, or on a 2×2 grid with Pro, and saved as a single photo.
GIVE OLDER PHOTOS THE SAME TREATMENT
Import a photo with the Android photo picker and the chosen camera develops it the same way, date stamp and all. The app only sees the photo you pick and saves the result as a new picture.
No photo to hand? Eight sample photos are built in to try any camera on, all Wiki Loves Monuments winners from Wikimedia Commons. Their authors and licences are under Settings › Photo credits.

FREE AND PRO
Free, with no time limit: Mochi 32, Sunny 35, Paper 27, Pop Instant and Flip VGA, today's date stamp, flash, self-timer, both cameras, the photo booth strip, import, the sample photos and unlimited shots.
Pocket Digicam Pro adds:
• Kira CCD, DV-99 and Luxe 35
• A custom date: stamp a birthday or any year you like
• HD files: the full-size picture from any camera, not its old file size
• Booth grid and black, pink or lilac frames
• Pro cameras added in later updates
Pro cameras and booth frames show in the live preview; the upgrade screen appears when you press the shutter. Pro is sold through Google Play as a yearly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time purchase, at the prices Google Play shows in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in Google Play.
YOUR PHOTOS STAY ON YOUR PHONE
Pictures are developed on the phone and never uploaded. There is no sign-in. The camera permission is used only to take pictures; the app does not ask for your location or the microphone. To help fix bugs, the app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports through Firebase, never your photos, and you can switch them off in Settings.
