Told — Voice Tasks, Offline APP
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Tasks live by how close they are to being done, not by deadlines. There are four lists and a task is in exactly one of them:
Inbox — said out loud, not decided on yet
Now — I'm on it
Nearby — within reach
Later — off the radar, and that is fine
The further out the list, the less of it you see. Later is deliberately out of sight: that is what keeps the list you actually look at short and honest.
A date here is the day you plan to work on something, not a deadline. If the day passes, the task simply carries over. Nothing turns red and nothing scolds you.
VOICE, HONESTLY
You hold the microphone, speak, and what you said becomes the title of a task in the Inbox. Recognition runs on the phone — there is no server involved and no account to make. This version writes down what you said; it does not yet work out dates or lists for you. You do that, in one tap, when you sort the Inbox.
When you cannot speak — a meeting, a train, a sleeping child, a sore throat — the keyboard sits next to the microphone and the task lands in exactly the same place.
PRIVACY YOU CAN CHECK
The release build has no internet permission at all. Not "we promise not to" — the app cannot open a connection, and you can verify that from the outside with one command on the package. No analytics, no crash reporting, no identifiers, no ads. Voice recordings stay in the app's private storage and are deleted as soon as the task is sorted. Android's automatic backup is switched off, so nothing travels to a cloud drive behind your back.
WHAT IS NOT HERE, ON PURPOSE
No streaks, points, levels or completion percentages. No progress rings or charts. No red "overdue". No tabs, no hamburger menu, no onboarding tour. No social features, no sharing. An empty Now is the goal, not an accusation.
ALSO IN THE BOX
Reminders at a time you set. A trash that empties itself after 30 days. Undo that takes back a whole run of changes, not just the last one. Export and import your own backup file. Light and dark themes. Seven interface languages.
WHAT COMES NEXT
An assistant that understands what you said — "call the dentist tomorrow at nine" becoming a task with a date and a reminder — is the next release. It will run on the phone too.
