TreeChat

A conversation is not one column. It is four things at once: the plan, the money, the thing you keep forgetting to ask, and whatever you were actually talking about. In every other messenger those four get flattened into one scroll, and three of them get lost.

TreeChat branches. Long-press any message, give it a name, and it becomes a chat of its own hanging off the one it came from. The original keeps its shape. The new one keeps its own history. And the whole thing is a tree you can open and look at — which is a far better answer to "where did we leave that?" than scrolling for four minutes.

END-TO-END ENCRYPTED
Messages, chat names and reply previews are encrypted on your phone before they are uploaded, with keys that live in your device's hardware-backed keystore. The server stores ciphertext and cannot read a word of it. A new device you sign in on reads nothing until a device you already trust approves it — and you can check the fingerprint before you do.

BUILT AROUND THE TREE
• Branch any message into its own named chat.
• See the whole conversation as a graph, and drag it into a shape that makes sense to you.
• Unread branches glow, so the tree tells you where something new is.
• Collapse a branch you are done with, without deleting anything.
• Groups branch too, with the same shape and the same encryption.

DESIGNED TO BE QUIET
• Notifications you can actually manage: separate channels for direct and group messages, and mute per chat rather than per person — because one thread can be urgent while another one is not.
• Choose how much a notification says: nothing, who it is from, or the message. A locked screen only ever shows "New message".
• No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDK, no feed, and nothing to scroll for its own sake.

PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
• No phone number and no access to your contact list. Direct connections use a one-use invite that expires in 24 hours; group invitations are owner-controlled and expire after 7 days or their use limit.
• Nobody can find you. There is no search, no directory, no suggestions.
• Block anyone, in both directions, enforced on the server — including inside a group you share.
• Report a person or a message through the in-app safety flow.
• Delete your account and its data from inside the app, or from the web if you have already uninstalled. It happens immediately.

The local database on your phone is encrypted too, with a key held in the Android Keystore.

OPTIONAL PLUS PLAN
The free plan supports two direct contacts and one group. Plus removes those count limits while keeping the 200-person group limit. Google Play handles checkout; payment details are not sent to TreeChat. Existing history and keys are kept if Plus ends, while unselected retained chats become read-only until you choose access or resubscribe.
