Unroomies is for couples who love each other and live like roommates. The house runs. The calendar works. You talk all day, mostly about pickups and groceries, and at night you sit on the same sofa, each on a phone.
The app opens on a living room after dark. One lamp, one sofa, and the two of you on it.
HOW A NIGHT GOES
Each evening the lamp hands down a note with one small thing to do together, at home. Some nights it’s a question to ask each other, the kind that turns into a deep conversation. Some nights it’s something to do: sit on the same side of the sofa, make their usual drink and stay in the room. It takes about ten minutes, and you put the phone down to do it. Once a week the night is a real date.
When you come back and tap We’re done, a little of the lamp’s light leaves the flame and lands on the sofa, under both of you. The room keeps it.
WHAT CHANGES
Night by night the room fills in. A blanket, two mugs, a record player, the light reaching further. Nobody gets a score and there’s no streak to lose. A night that doesn’t happen takes nothing away. The room is where you left it.
On night 30, the dark room you started in turns into the one you made. You get a card with the two side by side.
WHERE IT STARTS
Eighteen questions, about two minutes, no account. They name the pattern you’re in, in plain words: the Logistics Trap, Parallel Play, the Initiation Freeze, Touch Drought or Shift Work. Your thirty nights are written for it, every one by a person.
IF ONLY ONE OF YOU HAS THE APP
Every night has a version you can do without your partner knowing the app exists. If they’d like to join, send them tonight’s card. They type the code. No quiz, nothing to pay.
PRIVATE, AND ON YOUR PHONE
No account. Nothing either of you writes leaves your phone unless you share a card. Your partner never sees your answers, and the app never tells either of you what the other did. It works offline. The app is in English.
WHAT IT COSTS
The quiz and your pattern are free. The thirty nights are $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US, and one purchase covers you both. Cancel any time. Nights you’ve started stay yours. After night 30 it carries on as one evening a week: a date, a Sunday check, two lighter nights.
