Track Your True Workout Effort
Instead of just logging time or distance, ZonePoints quantifies the intensity and duration of your training sessions. Using your heart rate data, the app calculates a score measured in Zone Points.

What are ZonePoints?
ZonePoints are a measure of training stimulus, grounded in the scientific principles of Training Impulse (TRIMP). You earn points based on two factors:

• Zone Speed: This metric reflects how deep you are within each training zone numbered 1-5. Zone speed ranges from 1.0 as you enter training Zone 1, up to 6.0 at the end of Zone 5, your maximum heart.

• Time Spent: The longer you train within your target zones, the more points you accumulate. Every minute you spend at a certain Zone Speed earns you that precise number of points.

Only training time counts so there is no need to start and stop the workout - the app knows when you are warming up, training or resting.

Requires a Bluetooth Heart Rate Sensor
To capture the necessary data, ZonePoints connects to a Bluetooth heart rate sensor. This could be a chest strap or a compatible fitness tracker or smartwatch that broadcasts heart rate via standard Bluetooth protocols.

Personalized For You
You can easily adjust your Maximum Heart Rate or age and Resting Heart Rate. The app uses these values to calculate your Heart Rate Reserve, ensuring your training zones and Zone Point scoring are precise for you. It will even monitor your actual values seen during training sessions to suggest appropriate settings.

Consistently Achieve Your Weekly Target
ZonePoints focuses on flexibility over rigid schedules. The app tracks your total Zone Points earned throughout the week against your personal target. We've based the default weekly target of 300 points on the American Heart Association's guidance for adults, which recommends 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise.

Missed a workout? No problem. You can make up the points later in the week – it's the weekly Zone Points total that matters. Scientific studies show that as long as you catch up, you will get the same health benefit as if you spread you exercise out consistently during the week. You have until Sunday to complete your weekly target and get back on track!

Focus on High Intensity Fitness Training
ZonePoints is designed to monitor high-intensity training efforts aimed at improving your cardiovascular capacity.

Scoring starts in training Zone 1, so warm-ups, rests and low-intensity activity don't contribute to your Zone Points total. This ensures you're tracking genuine training stimulus. While a casual walk is healthy, it likely won't push you into your training zones and you won't earn Zone Points. If it's not actual training time, it doesn’t count!

Not a General Activity Tracker
Measuring your effort in Zone Points is ideal when you mix your exercise types such as gym or home workouts, with outdoor activities. It allows you to combine all your training into a single score to understand if you are pushing yourself enough to improve your fitness.

For tracking daily steps, general movement and activity, a dedicated fitness tracker worn throughout the day is more suitable. ZonePoints excels at monitoring those dedicated sessions where you push yourself to improve cardiovascular capacity and endurance.
