アメダスウィジェット APP
Don't you sometimes wonder about things beyond just the weather forecast, like where it's raining and what the atmospheric pressure patterns are?
With this app, the latest weather information images are always displayed in your widget.
You can also check the weather conditions with images and animations by clicking on the widget.
Radar and AMeDAS images show your current location, allowing you to see at a glance whether it's raining around you.
If you want to display that image in the widget, you can press the "Set" button to configure its position and size on a separate screen.
While you might be concerned about battery consumption due to image updates, this widget only updates when the home screen is displayed and the device wakes from sleep mode. (Android versions below 5.0)
Therefore, it avoids unnecessary image updates and consumes very little battery power.

~Notice~
* On Android 14, the widget may not appear after an app update.
In this case, please restart your smartphone, wait a while after restarting, and then turn the screen on/off; this may make it appear.
* On Android 9, 10, 11, and 12, you may experience symptoms such as the widget not updating or not responding when tapped.
In such cases, launching the AMeDAS widget once from the app list screen should allow it to update.
* Placing the AMeDAS widget app icon next to the widget will quickly restore the app's service.
* The standard home app on OPPO smartphones has a bug that prevents widgets from updating.
Installing and switching to a home app such as NOVA Launcher may resolve this issue.
* Some satellite images (4-part and hemispherical images) have been removed because they are no longer publicly available on the Japan Meteorological Agency website.
Please use the global images.
* A bug has been confirmed in Android 4.4.2 that prevents updates from being performed correctly.
If you can update to Android 4.4.3, we recommend updating.
If you cannot update, you can mitigate the problem by installing and running a separate plugin app called ServiceKeeper.
* If the widget stops updating or becomes overloaded, please try the following methods:
Method 1: Tap the widget, press Set, and then press OK.
Method 2: If the app does not launch when you tap the widget, launch the AMEDAS widget from the app list screen.
Method 3: Delete the widget and then place it again.
Method 4: Uninstall the app, restart your device, then reinstall the app and place the widget again.
Method 5: Disable task killer apps.
* Updates may not be possible if you are using a screen lock app. If you have a screen lock app that is preventing updates, please let us know the app name so we can register it.
○ How to Use
After installing this app, add the widget using one of the following methods.
A. Long-press an empty area on the home screen, select "Add Widget" from the menu, and add an AMeDAS widget of your preferred size.
B. Open the app list screen, tap the Widgets tab, and add an AMeDAS widget of your preferred size.
(Note: Widget placement methods may vary depending on the manufacturer and home app. Please refer to your manual for details.)
After displaying your preferred image on the app screen and tapping "Set," you can change the display position and size by dragging, pinching, etc., on the map.
You can also change the size of the display area using the zoom in/out buttons in the lower right corner.
Pressing the OK button will place the widget on the home screen.
○ About Permissions
This app only updates when the home app or screen lock app is displayed to avoid unnecessary internet access.
Therefore, it requires the permission "Get running applications" to obtain the names of those apps and whether they are running.
Also, the radar image and AMeDAS image can display your location, and therefore requires the permission "Approximate location information (network base station)" to obtain location information.
○ About the Menu Button
Occasionally, the menu button may not appear on certain models. If you are using such a model, you can access the menu by long-pressing the back button.
Alternatively, you can always display the menu button by selecting "Show Back Button" from the menu.
