DashCaptain - Phone Dashcam

DashCaptain turns your smartphone into a dash cam.

Long recording sessions can drain your battery and make your phone warm. If that isn't practical in your situation, we recommend a dedicated dash cam instead. Recording with a phone has its limits.

· Keeps recording with the screen off or while you use other apps
Once recording starts, it continues in the background - even if the screen turns off or you swipe the app away from Recents. You can set an auto-stop timer yourself (1-12 hours).

· Choose the recording mode that fits your situation
- Always on: records from start until the auto-stop timer ends
- Charge-linked: records only while charging, and pauses automatically when charging stops (so you don't record what you don't need when you take your phone off the mount)

· Set it up the way you need it
- Quality: Standard (720p) / High (1080p)
- Field of view: Ultra-wide (see more) / Standard (sharper)
- Camera: Rear / Front
Each setting explains what you gain and what you give up, right where you choose it.

· Watch your footage right inside the app
Swipe up and down through clips to follow what happened before and after, scrub freely to any moment, and pinch to zoom in - close enough to read a license plate. Export any clip and share it right away.

· Saves in 3-minute clips and clears old footage automatically
Footage is stored in 3-minute clips, keeping the last 12 hours (up to 240 clips). You never have to manage storage yourself.

· Your footage stays on your device
Nothing is uploaded to any server. It is stored only on this phone.
