LIVE BUS AND METROBUS LOCATION
Where is the bus you're waiting for right now? Open the route page and see the real-time GPS location of the vehicles live on the map and in the stop list. Which vehicle is at which stop, how many seconds ago was it updated — it's all on the screen.

STOP ALARMS
Don't wait unnecessarily at the stop. Receive a notification on your phone when your bus approaches your stop. Choose the route and how many stops before you want to be notified; set it for the first bus after a certain time or repeat every week on the days you choose. You manage your alarms from the "My Alarms" screen.

DIRECTIONS AND LIVE NAVIGATION
Enter where you are going from and to; See alternatives that combine buses, metro buses, subways, Marmaray, ferries, and minibuses. Switch between balanced, fastest, and least-transfer-and-less-walking options. Follow your route step-by-step with "Start Directions": your walking route follows real sidewalks, your next vehicle is visible on the map, and you'll be reminded when it's time to get off at your stop.

LINES NEARBY
When you open the app, lines passing through your stop are listed directly. You don't need to know the line code.

STOP INFORMATION
Tap a stop; see all lines passing through that stop, upcoming buses, and scheduled departure times. Filter departure times by line and day type.

METRO, TRAM AND MARMARAY
All rail lines are shown on the map with real-time route markings. Station lists, first and last train times, active breakdown and maintenance announcements.

FERRY (CITY LINES)
Lines, piers, departure times, and current ticket prices. Includes prices for the Islands Line with/without Adakart.

MINIBUS
Minibus lines by district, actual route mapping and weekday/weekend departure times.

FAVORITES
Add your frequently used lines, stops and minibus routes to your favorites; access them with a single touch on the main screen.

WHAT IS LIVE, WHAT IS ESTIMATED — IT IS CLEARLY WRITTEN
We show the actual GPS location of vehicles on buses and metro buses. Since live vehicle-based data is not publicly available on metro, Marmaray and ferries, movement is calculated from the official tariff — and it is clearly stated on the screen that this is tariff-based. We do not present a certainty that does not exist.

PERMISSIONS
Location permission is only required to show nearby stops and lines passing near you and to track your location in route directions. Notification permission is only for stop alerts and service announcements. Both are optional; if you do not grant them, the rest of the application will continue to work.

ekRota is an independent application; it has no official connection with IETT, Metro Istanbul, TCDD, or City Lines. Operator brands are only used next to the relevant line to identify the service.
