Gammy Managed

Gammy Managed turns an Android smartphone into a caregiver-managed simple phone for a child, senior, or other family member using a dedicated device, such as a new, wiped, unused, or intentionally repurposed phone.

It replaces the crowded Android home experience with large controls, simple menus, and a keypad-first layout for everyday phone basics. A caregiver or admin can help configure calls, text messaging, trusted contacts, alarms, calendar, camera, Wi-Fi setup, Android-owned Bluetooth setup, and other daily tools. Calls and texts start in trusted-contacts-only mode.

Gammy Managed is intended for phones that are set up and maintained by a caregiver, family member, or administrator as dedicated managed devices. The managed app keeps daily screens calm while setup, recovery, storage management, and offboarding remain part of the caregiver/admin flow.

Gammy Managed may ask for permissions normally used by phone, messaging, home screen, alarm, calendar, camera, microphone, contacts, notification, Wi-Fi, location, and device setup apps. Location Tools are off until a parent or caregiver accepts the disclosure and enables them. Managed does not request Bluetooth scan or Nearby Devices permission; Bluetooth setup opens Android's settings.

Medication routines are a simple display of what the caregiver has already written down. Gammy Managed does not give medical advice, set doses, monitor whether medicine was taken, or contact anyone on your behalf.

Weather is optional and off until it is enabled after its disclosure. Forecast requests send approximate latitude and longitude rounded to one decimal place to Open-Meteo over HTTPS.

Gammy Managed is designed for a mixed audience. The child-accessible default experience has no ads or analytics, limits calls and texts to caregiver-managed trusted contacts, and keeps location tools and uncontrolled media off. A parent or caregiver can enable those optional tools only from the PIN-protected setup area.

The launch version of Beau uses local rule-based task support. It does not download an advanced AI model or model pack.
