Jibaro: Family Safety keeps your family connected without compromising your privacy. Unlike other family tracking apps, your location data is never stored on a central server in readable form — everything is end-to-end encrypted before it leaves your device.
How it works
When you set up Jibaro: Family Safety, the app generates a 12-word recovery phrase that becomes your permanent identity. No email address, no password, no account. Your cryptographic keys are derived from that phrase and stored only on your device. If you ever switch phones, just enter your phrase to restore everything.
Family members join by scanning a QR code. The person who shares the code approves each new member manually — no one can join your family group without your explicit permission.

Privacy by design
All messages — locations, chat, files — are encrypted on your device using libsodium (the same cryptography library trusted by Signal and others). The relay server that routes messages between family members never sees plaintext data and stores nothing permanently. There are no ads, no analytics, and no data sold to third parties.
