Lamplight: Typewriter Notes

Lamplight turns your phone into a typewriter. Every key you press, a carriage glides along its rail, a type-arm rises and strikes the exact letter onto real-looking paper, and the sheet feeds up line by line. Writing notes has never felt this calm, or this satisfying.

WRITE BY LAMPLIGHT
Switch to night mode and the room goes dim while a warm desk lamp throws a soft pool of light across your page. Tap the carriage to flick the lamp on or off. By day, write on bright paper in clean natural light.

A TYPEWRITER THAT FEELS REAL
• The carriage follows your cursor and the type-arm strikes every letter you type
• A spinning letter wheel shows each key as it lands
• Press Enter and the carriage returns with a satisfying sweep
• A margin bell rings as you near the end of a line
• Tactile haptic feedback on every key press
• Long pages roll smoothly over the top roller as you keep typing

CORRECTIONS, THE TYPEWRITER WAY
Backspace doesn't erase. It strikes your letters through with an ink line, just like correcting a page on a real machine. Keep typing after your mistake and your page tells the honest story of your writing. Prefer normal erasing? Switch it off in Settings anytime.

BEAUTIFUL PAPER FOR EVERY THOUGHT
Choose from nine hand-crafted paper stocks: Classic Bond, Old Parchment with scorched edges, woven Linen Letter, Ledger with blue rules and a red margin, Blueprint, Kraft, Midnight Noir, Rosé Stationery and Engineer Sage. Every sheet remembers its own paper.

MAKE THE MACHINE YOURS
• Seven typewriter designs, from the iridescent Nebula Drift to Walnut Deluxe, Brass Heritage and Cherry Ribbon
• Four typewriter typefaces and adjustable text size
• Pick a default paper for every new sheet

ORGANISED, NOT COMPLICATED
• Give any sheet a title, typed across the top like a letterhead
• Search all your sheets by title or text in an instant
• Move the cursor by holding the carriage and sliding it left or right
• Scroll back through long pages with a flick of the paper

Turn any sheet into a beautiful image on its paper design and send it to friends through any app. Letters, poems, lists and thoughts look like they came straight off a typewriter.

TEAR IT UP
Done with a sheet? Tear it up with a satisfying paper-rip animation. Changed your mind? Undo brings it right back.
