PRIVACY

Downsize has no servers and no account. Your photos are never uploaded, and the app cannot open your gallery on its own: Android's photo picker hands over only the photos you select, one batch at a time. That is why Downsize asks for no storage permission at all on Android 10 and later.

WHY YOU MIGHT NEED IT

Phone cameras write files of several megabytes. Upload forms cap at 2 MB, email attachments bounce, chat apps re-compress badly, and a full gallery backup takes forever over mobile data. A 4 MB photo that becomes 400 KB looks the same on a screen and fits everywhere.
