Welding Inspector Exam Prep APP
WHAT YOU GET
- Original practice questions on selected Part A topics, including terminology, welding processes, NDE methods, metallurgy, calculations, destructive tests, and cutting.
- An explanation for every answer option: why the right answer is right and why each wrong choice is wrong.
- Calc Lab: step-by-step tools for unit conversions, fillet weld throat, groove area, heat input, and UT trigonometry, plus a formula sheet with sources.
- Study notes and flashcards by topic, with spaced review of cards you miss.
- A timed practice test built from the questions in the app, with the timer scaled to the question count.
- Wrong-answer review, weak-area drills, and a week-by-week roadmap to your seat date.
- Study offline. A connection is needed only for purchase and restore.
BUILT FOR PART A ONLY
Every question, note, and drill is aimed at the fundamentals exam; the practical and code-book parts are not covered. Questions are original, written from U.S. government public-domain and CC BY sources, and each explanation works through the options one by one, so a miss tells you what to review. The Calc Lab turns the calculations area into drills you repeat with fresh numbers until the method is automatic.
WHO IT IS FOR
- Welders and fabricators moving into inspection who want welding inspector prep that begins with the fundamentals
- Candidates working toward welding inspector certification who want to check their fundamentals
- QC and NDE technicians refreshing processes, metallurgy, and terminology
- Candidates looking for CWI exam prep that explains every answer option
HOW THE EXAM WORKS
The certification exam has three parts: Part A (Fundamentals), Part B (Practical), and Part C (Code Application). This app is for Part A only, a multiple-choice exam on inspection fundamentals, and covers selected topics. Eligibility, fees, length, and passing rules are set by AWS and can change; confirm them on the official page below.
CURRENT CONTENT
Version 1.0 covers selected fundamentals topics, and the question bank grows with each update. Not included yet: Duties & Responsibilities. Figure-based items are only starting, and symbol questions are still largely text-based, so this is not yet a picture-based welding symbols test. The question bank is small in this first version. The practice test uses the questions available; they are not official-length or official-distribution exams. The home screen shows the current question count per area. Questions and explanations are in English.
