DecodeBar: Barcode analyzer APP
DecodeBar is a barcode analyzer and decoder for inspecting the data encoded in barcodes and QR codes.
Scan a code to view its decoded content and, when GS1 data is detected, inspect the structure of the encoded GS1 elements and Application Identifiers (AI).
GS1 data analysis
DecodeBar can identify common GS1 Application Identifiers and display their values together with the boundaries between data elements.
For GS1-128 / CODE 128, DecodeBar provides additional insight into the underlying CODE 128 encoding, including:
START A, START B and START C sequences
FNC1 characters
element boundaries
separators between variable-length elements
boundaries determined by the defined length of fixed-length elements
For other supported GS1 barcode formats, the decoded data is displayed with:
Application Identifiers (AI)
corresponding values
element boundaries
separators shown as vertical bars
This makes it easier to inspect, troubleshoot and understand how GS1 data is encoded in a barcode.
Supported formats
DecodeBar supports scanning and decoding of:
GS1-128 / CODE 128
DataBar
DataMatrix
QR Code
Codabar
ITF / Code 25
Code 39
Code 93
UPC-A
UPC-E

Barcode and QR code inspection
DecodeBar is designed not only to read the encoded value, but also to show how the data is structured. This can be useful when developing, testing or troubleshooting barcode-based solutions.
When GS1 data is detected, DecodeBar attempts to parse the encoded data into Application Identifiers and their values. For GS1-128, the analysis can also expose relevant CODE 128 control information such as START sequences and FNC1.
DecodeBar is intended for developers, testers, engineers and anyone who needs to inspect or troubleshoot barcode data and GS1 encoding.
