Mela Amharic Keyboard

Mela is a fast keyboard for Amharic and the Ethiopic (Ge'ez) Fidel script - and it types English too.

Type a few base letters and Mela offers the whole word. Tap ሰ - ለ - መ and it suggests ሰላም. The keyboard works out the fidel orders for you, so you are not hunting for the right form of every letter.

WHAT YOU GET

- Fast Amharic typing. A large Amharic word list suggests words as you type.
- Full Fidel coverage. The middle order key cycles a letter through all seven orders, and a long press opens every variant of a key. You get the whole abugida without a cluttered layout.
- A built-in English layer fixes spelling as you type and predicts your next word. One keyboard for both languages, no switching apps.
- Auto complete. Optionally let the best suggestion drop in when you type a space or punctuation.
- Personal dictionary. Add your own names, places and words, and they turn up as suggestions from then on.

Nothing you type is collected. No personal information, no device information, no analytics, no other data. The app asks for no special permissions. If you ever want to help improve Amharic suggestions, there is a button in settings that opens your own email app with your feedback. Free, and no ads.
