Roots

Roots turns the places around you into stories you can hear.

People record short audio stories, called roots, and pin them to the exact spot
they belong to. As you walk or drive past that spot, the story plays. A quiet
street corner, a monument, a family home, a piece of history, each can carry a
voice and a memory in the place it happened.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Listen as you go. Stories play automatically as you come near their location.
- Explore the map. Tap any pin to hear the story tied to that place.
- Record your own. Capture a memory or a piece of local history and pin it where
it belongs.
- Build routes. String stories into an ordered trail others can follow.
- Follow storytellers. Keep up with people and places whose stories you enjoy.

HERITAGE STORIES
Roots includes narrated heritage stories about towns and landmarks, so there is
something to hear even before your own community starts recording.

PRIVACY AND CONTROL
You choose who can hear each story you make, public, friends, or private. You
can delete your recordings or your whole account at any time. Location is used
only while the app is open, to play nearby stories and to pin your own.

Roots works best with sound on and location allowed. Please listen responsibly,
and never handle your phone while driving.
