Aapda Mitra APP

Aapda Mitra - India's Official Disaster Volunteer App
Aapda Mitra is the official mobile application of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, built to power the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) - a nationwide, youth-led, community-based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiative.
The app connects nominated and trained volunteers with State and District Disaster Management Authorities (SDMA/DDMA), District Magistrates, and partner youth organizations, creating an end-to-end digital ecosystem for volunteer nomination, training, deployment, and disaster response.
Become Aapda Mitra
Any member of the general public can apply to join the scheme directly through the "Become Aapda Mitra" button on the home screen. Volunteers can also be nominated by partner youth organizations - NCC, NSS, MY Bharat, and Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) - who upload nominee data for onward processing.
Training Workflow
Once nominated, volunteers are enrolled into a structured training program:
SDMA/DDMA & NCC for its cadets schedule training batches and submit batch-wise details on Day 1, Day 4, and Day 7 of each training cycle.
Attendance for every session is recorded with geo-tagged photos captured using the in-app Aapda Mitra camera, ensuring verified, location-confirmed participation.
Training venue details are submitted by the organization conducting the training.
Master Trainer information is submitted and maintained by SDMA.
Insurance & Equipment Tracking
SDMA/DDMA record insurance details for all trained volunteers.
Emergency Response Kit (ERK) procurement and distribution details are logged by SDMA/DDMA, ensuring every volunteer's equipment status is tracked.
Utilization Certificate (UC) and Statement of Expenditure (SOE) details are submitted by SDMA and partner youth organizations for financial accountability.
Volunteer Profile & Digital I-Card
View your official volunteer profile, training history, and skill set. Access your digital I-Card and DigiLocker-linked certificates directly in the app.
Deployment & Alerts
Get real-time push notifications when your District Magistrate or DDMA needs volunteers for disaster response, mock drills, refresher training, awareness campaigns, crowd management, blood donation camps, control room duty, and other community activities. Confirm availability directly in the app.
Incident Reporting
Report incidents and log assistance provided during emergencies. Reports are verified by your DM/DDMA and automatically reflected in your volunteer profile.
Learning & Resources
Access the Training Handbook, Pocket Book, Do's and Don'ts guide, and Disaster Survival Guide, plus monthly quizzes to keep your knowledge current and certification-ready.
Dashboard
A visual dashboard presents trained-volunteer data through charts, summary boxes, graphs, and maps — giving authorities and volunteers a clear, real-time picture of training and deployment status.
Skill-Based Deployment
Registered skills (medical aid, search & rescue, communication, logistics, etc.) help authorities match the right volunteer to the right task.
