Littafi Mai Tsarki Hausa Bible APP

Littafi Mai Tsarki is the complete Holy Bible in Hausa, built for people who want to read scripture in their own language without fighting the app to do it.

All 66 books are included, Farawa through Wahayin Yahaya — the full Tsohon Alkawari and Sabon Alkawari, 1,189 chapters and over 30,000 verses. The entire text is stored inside the app, so it opens instantly and reading works with no internet connection at all. On a plane, in a village with no signal, on a phone with no data left: the scripture is there.

SEARCH WITHOUT THE HOOKED LETTERS

Hausa is written with ɓ, ɗ and ƙ, and typing them on a phone keyboard is slow. Most apps make you get them exactly right or find nothing.

This one does not. Search for "kauna" and you will find ƙauna. Search for "daya" and you will find ɗaya. Search for "saad" and you will find sa'ad. Type whatever is convenient, and the app matches the real spelling for you, then highlights exactly what it found in the verse.

Every verse in the Bible is indexed, and results come back in a moment.

THE LETTERS RENDER PROPERLY

Hausa apps often show ɓ, ɗ and ƙ as empty boxes, because most typefaces simply do not contain those letters. Every typeface in this app was checked character by character before it was included. Nothing renders as a box, and nothing falls back to a wrong letter.

Three reading faces are offered — Charis, Gentium and Andika — all drawn by SIL specifically for African languages. Pick whichever your eyes prefer.

THE PSALMS ARE SET AS POETRY

Zabura, Ishaya, Ayuba, Makoki and the other poetic books are laid out line by line, the way they are meant to be read, instead of being run together into a paragraph.

BUILT FOR ACTUAL READING

Set the text size to whatever suits you. Choose light or dark. Dark mode is a warm earth-black rather than flat grey, which is easier on the eyes at night.

Each verse begins on its own line, so you can find a reference quickly instead of hunting through a block of text.

KEEP YOUR PLACE

The app remembers the chapter you last had open and offers it the moment you come back. Bookmark any verse and it lands in a list you can return to. Copy a verse to your clipboard or send it to WhatsApp, Messages, or anywhere else with one tap.

A verse of the day — Ayar Yini — is drawn fresh each morning from anywhere in the Bible.

NO ACCOUNT NEEDED

No sign-in, no email address, no profile. Your bookmarks and your reading position stay on your phone. Reading and search work fully offline; the app connects only to load ads.

The design is drawn from Hausa-Fulani building — the red laterite clay and lime plaster of Zaria's walls, and the dagi knot carved into their facades — because a Bible in Hausa should not look like a Bible in English with the words swapped out.
