Wreck Run

It is almost never the flip that gets you. It is usually a hole.

One button. Press on a ramp and the rocket goes off at the lip whether you were ready or not. Keep holding and he keeps turning over. Let go and he finds an upright and drives to it. Everything in this game is deciding when to let go.

A double pays three times a single, and the window for two flips is barely narrower than the window for one. So take the second flip. Land a triple and the whole screen drops into slow motion for a second while he rolls out of it. That is the closest thing to a compliment you will get here.

SEVEN WAYS TO COME APART

Face plant. Landed upside down. Landed still spinning. Tipped over. Fell in the gap. Stalled out. Bailed a trick you were still throwing. The panel names the one you earned, and most of the time it tells you to let go about 0.3 seconds sooner.

YOUR WRECKS STAY ON THE TRACK

Come apart at 393 metres and the wreckage is still lying there at 393 metres on your next run, at the angle you left it, wearing the skin you had on. You ride over your own morning. Tomorrow the track is new and the whole graveyard goes with it.

TWELVE TRICKS

Flick a direction in the air for a tier-one trick. The same flick twice upgrades it. Two different flicks inside the combo window is a tier three, and the first time you land each one it goes in the dex. Fill the dex and the last rider is yours.

FOURTEEN TRACKS, THEN ENDLESS

Everyone rides the same endless track today and a different one tomorrow. Armor forgives one wreck. Magnet pulls the coins in. Copter thins the gravity long enough to finish a hold you had no business starting.
